Tangerine World MasterCard vs. Tangerine Money Back Card

If you’re already a Tangerine client, you may have gotten an email last month inviting you to upgrade your Tangerine Money-Back Card to the new Tangerine World MasterCard.

What is the Tangerine World MasterCard?

The Tangerine World MasterCard has all the core benefits as the Tangerine Money-Back Card, but with some extra perks.

I’ve had the Tangerine Money-Back Credit Card since it came out. It’s been an awesome no-fee, cash-back card for years. You can read a full review of the Tangerine Money-Back card here!

However, I’ll admit I don’t use my Tangerine credit card much because it doesn’t offer any benefits beyond cash-back. Instead, I’ve always kept it as my back-up or emergency credit card, in case my main card is lost or stolen.

But the new Tangerine World MasterCard provides some new benefits and no extra cost that could make carrying it around in your wallet worthwhile!

The Tangerine World MasterCard vs. the Tangerine Money-Back Credit Card

The Tangerine World MasterCard is a level-up from your regular Tangerine Money-Back Credit Card. It offers all the same core benefits of cashback, purchase assurance, extended warranty, and more.

Here’s how the two cards directly compare:

As you can see, the World MasterCard offers almost identical benefits tot he Money-Back Card, except you get a few additional perks. If you think this doesn’t make much of a difference, remember the most important part: these extra benefits are at no extra cost!

The extra perks of the Tangerine World MasterCard

Here’s a breakdown of the extra benefits of choosing the Tangerine world MasterCard over the Tangerine Mone-Back Credit Card:

Mobile Device Insurance

If you’re upgrading a phone or tablet, make sure to charge the full cost to your Tangerine World MasterCard. You’ll be covered up to $1,000 if your mobile device is lost, stolen, accidentally damaged or experiences mechanical failure.

Rental Car Collision Insurance

As someone that frequently rents vehicles when traveling, rental car insurance has always been one of my favorite credit card perks. When you have rental car collision insurance through your MasterCard, you can decline that provided by the rental car provider. This saves money on your vehicle rental!

The Tangerine World MasterCard provides damage and theft protection for your car rental when you rent for up to 31 consecutive days and charge the full cost of your rental to your Card.

MasterCard Airport Experiences by LoungeKey

The Tangerine World MasterCard provides you with a complimentary LoungeKey membership. This gives you exclusive dining, retail and spa offers in over 400 airports worldwide. You’ll also get access to over 1,000 lounges at $32 USD per visit.

It looks like the days of $0 airport lounge visits have unfortunately ended. However, it might still be worth it to cough up the $32 USD to unwind on a comfy couch with good wifi and free food before a long flight.

Get 4% cash-back if you apply before January 31, 2020

As of right now, you’ll get double cash-back in 3 chosen spending categories for 3 months with the Tangerine World MasterCard if you apply before January 31, 2020. Why not start off the New Year with a little bit extra cash in your pocket and no credit card fees?
