The PC Money Account Makes Your Budget Go Further

Who says payday can’t have more payoff? The PC Money Account lets you stretch your dollar so you can afford all the essentials, as well as luxuries!

You’re likely already a PC Points collector, but if not, now has never been a better time. It’s easier than ever to earn PC Optimum points on everyday purchases. Whether you’re buying groceries, filling your car up with gas, or purchasing clothes for your child, you can earn PC points on every single dollar spent. Previously, you only earned PC Points on dollars spent at Loblaws retailers. Now, the PC Money Account lets you earn PC Points anywhere you shop.

How I earn & spend PC Optimum Points

I’ve been a PC Optimum Points collector for decades. Whether I’m buying groceries, household items, clothes for my child, ore make-up for myself, I shop almost exclusively at stores that let me earn PC Optimum points. Why? Because PC Points are easy to earn and as valuable as cash!

I typically hoard points until I have saved over 200,000, and then I redeem them on luxury items like perfume and make-up. Because I buy these items with points, they don’t take any extra cash out of my budget. It’s like getting them for free! Shopper’s Beauty Boutiques stocks almost all of my favorite high-end make-up brands like Urban Decay and Lancome, so I never have to go elsewhere. It’s also the only store I ever buy perfume from, because I honestly cannot get a better deal anywhere else – after all, nothing beats free with points!

My other favorite thing to do is save my PC Points until December, then spend them on holiday décor or gifts for my family. I can be extra generous with gifts around the holidays because the PC Points I’ve saved all year give my budget a boost. In more than one year I’ve covered my entire Christmas gift list purchases with PC Optimum points.

Is the PC Money Account a credit card?

The PC Money account is not a credit card. It functions like a regular bank account, but you earn rewards on each dollar of your spending like you would with a rewards credit card.

The PC Money account has the MasterCard symbol on the card, which indicates it is accepted anywhere MasterCard is accepted. However, unlike with a credit card, you cannot spend more money than you have in your PC Money Account!

Your PC Money Account is a bank account for your day-to-day banking. It’s the best place to keep your everyday spending money, as well as pay all your regular bills. If you’re done paying bank fees and want to be rewarded for your spending, the PC Money Account is the best option out there, especially if you’re already a PC Points collector!

Get rewarded for everyday spending, everywhere

Previously, you could only earn PC Optimum Points at participating Loblaws brands, but the PC Money account rewards you for spending anywhere. If you’re spending with your PC Money Account, you’ll earn at least 10 PC Points anywhere you shop, with additional points at Loblaws brands.

You can earn PC Points on regular purchases at any store, as well as for online bill payments. You can also earn some bonus points, like 20,000 on your first purchase of $50 or more!

PC Money Account Points

You’ll earn points on every dollar you spend with your PC Money Account card, both online and off. However, there are ways to supercharge your points with some bonuses. Here’s how to earn points with the PC Money Account:

  • 10 points per $1 spent at any retailer
  • 25 points per $1 spent at Shoppers Drug Mart
  • 1,000 points per bill monthly payment for up to 5 bills of $50 or more
  • A one-time bonus of 10,000 points for linking an external bank account
  • A one-time bonus of 25,000 points for setting up direct deposit
  • A one-time bonus of 20,000 points for making your first purchase over $50

To put it simply, the more you use your PC Money Account, the more it rewards you. Simply setting up your account with direct deposit, linking an external bank account, paying some monthly bills, and making your first purchase over, you can easily earn over 100,000 PC Points the first month you open your PC Money Account.

Make Your Budget Go Further

The best thing about PC Optimum Points is they can help your budget accommodate more everyday items, as well as special items you may not typically buy like perfume, fancy makeup, or home decor. Spend your dollars on the things you need, and the points on the things you want!

How to Redeem PC Optimum Points

You can redeem your PC Optimum points for groceries and other essentials at any Loblaws counter. Simply tell the cashier you would like to redeem your points, and they will apply your points balance to your purchase. Points are redeemed for the dollar value of your pre-tax balance.

Don’t forget that Loblaws retailers frequently host bonus events that help your points go even further. I frequently wait for bonus redemption days at Shoppers Drug Mart so my points buy even more!
